I have said it times without number: the world has become a sin-driven society where different forms of abominable things take place every day. Believers in Christ who serve God need to be careful not to conform to the world. We need to pay attention to our lifestyles so we don’t join sinners in their evil conduct. Apostle Paul, as inspired by God, sounds a note of warning to everyone in Romans 6:
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
In this scripture, we understand that the consequence of doing evil (sin) is death but God’s gift to us is eternal life which can be obtained through Jesus Christ. Death in this scripture represents spiritual death, not physical death. Physical death leads to a burial. Spiritual death leads to eternal condemnation. Spiritual death rather is to die without receiving Jesus as one's personal Lord and Saviour.
Jesus is the author of eternal salvation. When someone accepts Jesus as their personal Lord and Saviour, they receive eternal life. That eternal life in them then begins to yield certain fruits which do not include sin. Are you born again, yet struggling with some sinful habits? I want you to begin to pray and break free from those habits. Ask for God’s grace to stay pure. He will fully supply.
Are you yet to receive Jesus as your personal Lord and Saviour? As we read, the wages of sin is death and only through Christ can you receive an eternal life that will empower you against sin and make you close to God. Accept Him now. All you need to do is believe! If you are willing to accept Him, say this prayer:
“Lord Jesus, I know I’m a sinner and come to you today. I repent of my sins and confess them to you (mention them). Jesus, I accept you today as my personal Lord and Saviour. I promise to serve you all my days.”
If you prayed this prayer sincerely, search for a Bible-believing church of your choice and begin to fellowship there. Read your Bible and pray every day. You can reach me through apostlepaul@pkgm.org. You will not be eternally condemned in Jesus' name. Stay ablaze for God!
