Every day, the world witnesses new atrocities and all kinds of evil. The Bible calls these evil deeds sin. But here’s the good news: God does not want anyone to perish. That’s why He sent His only Son, Jesus Christ, to die on the cross so the whole world could be saved through Him. Jesus Christ is the author of eternal salvation, and in Him is eternal life. When someone receives Jesus as their personal Lord and Saviour, they immediately receive eternal life. This is the first step to becoming a Christian (a follower of Jesus).
What is Salvation?
Salvation, according to the Bible, is the deliverance of the soul from sin and its consequences (John 3:16). It is the reconciliation of humans in our fallen and sinful state back to God. Salvation restores us to God, enabling us to live according to His original purpose — a life of freedom, victory, and intimate relationship with Him. And it’s free and accessible to all, no matter their background, experience, history, or past.
We Are All Sinners in Need of Redemption
The Bible says in Romans 3:23, For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.
All of us are sinful by nature and often prioritize selfish desires over what is right. You certainly know those places you’ve fallen short and the wrong things you’ve done when no one was looking. Salvation is the first step towards true redemption, which empowers a person to consistently live beyond their sinful nature.
Why You Must Be Saved
The ultimate consequences of sin are eternal separation from God and eternal death.
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
When you die, the life you lived will be judged by God and eternal life will belong to only those in Christ Jesus. This is not fiction — it is eternal reality. The good news is that, as this scripture has shown, there is a gift of eternal life provided by God through Jesus Christ.
How to Receive Salvation: A Simple Guide to Becoming a Christian
- Believe in Him: Jesus Christ paid the price for your sin some two thousand years ago when He was brutally crucified on the cross of Calvary. To be saved, you must receive Jesus Christ, believe in Him as the Son of God.
- Accept Him as your Lord and Saviour: Confess your faith sincerely, from your heart.
- Confess your sins and receive His forgiveness: If you sincerely and honestly confess your sins to Him, He will forgive them and wipe your slate clean—that's the power of His grace.
- Follow Him: Turn away from your old, sinful ways and draw close to Him daily in fellowship. He will help you in that journey, and your life will be transformed.
But you must act now.
The Time is Now!
For he says, “In the time of my favor I heard you, and in the day of salvation I helped you.” I tell you, now is the time of God’s favor, now is the day of salvation.
This scripture rings an urgent alarm: God is always ready to forgive, but the time for salvation is now — not tomorrow or next week. NOW!
Are you living in sin? Are you in a form of satanic bondage? Jesus is ready to save and deliver you from both right now. Accept Him today and receive forgiveness and salvation. If you are ready to give your life to Jesus Christ and receive the gift of salvation, pray this with all your heart:
Prayer of Salvation
Lord Jesus, I confess that I am a sinner in need of your mercy.
I repent of all my sins (take a moment to mention them to Him).
I believe that You died for me and rose again.
I receive You now as my personal Lord and Saviour.
Help me to follow You all the days of my life. Amen.
Next Steps: Now that you are born again
Congratulations, Christian friend! Welcome to the body of Christ. Now that you're saved, find a Bible-believing church where you can grow in faith and fellowship. Start reading the Bible and talk to God daily in prayer. You are not alone. Jesus is with you.
