The Bible tells us that there is a season and a time for everything in this terrestrial divide called Earth on which we live on. Let's look at what the Bible says:
To everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven: A time to be born, And a time to die; A time to plant, And a time to pluck what is planted; A time to kill, And a time to heal; A time to break down, And a time to build up; A time to weep, And a time to laugh; A time to mourn, And a time to dance;
This scripture explains that many things have their times and seasons. It differentiates a time to weep from a time to laugh and a time to mourn from a time to dance. It also tells us that the season of weeping is not forever, and the season of laughter also exists. Nor is the season of mourning forever because the dancing season will promptly replace it in due time.
Let us see another scripture:
For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for life; Weeping may endure for a night, But joy comes in the morning.
This scripture tells us that the anger of God only lasts a short time but His favor is forever. As such, weeping can only last a season joy would surely come right after. The night season is a season of darkness, loneliness, gloominess, and heavy heart, while the morning season is a season of happiness, jubilation, triumph, and elation. One of the reasons why Jesus came into this world is to make us happy. The book of Isaiah supports this fact:
To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.
This scripture highlights the ministerial assignment of Jesus Christ on earth, which are:
- To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion
- To give unto them beauty for ashes
- The oil of joy for mourning
- The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness
For these reasons:
- That they might be called the trees of righteouness.
- That they might be called the planting of the Lord
- That He (Jesus) might be glorified
We will discuss these insights in more detail in the next post on this series. To be continued...
