In my last post, I mentioned how Jesus gave thanks before performing most of His notable miracles. He did this because He knew that there is power in giving thanks to God in all situations. In this post, I’m going to list some benefits of thanksgiving. But before I do, let’s examine something in the book of Psalms:
Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song.
King David, the author of this passage, loved to thank God daily. Like Jesus, he knew the power of thanksgiving, and it was evident in his victory in all the battles he fought. Through this passage, King David calls us, believers in Christ Jesus, to rise and sing joyful sounds to our God in thanksgiving. He tells us to exalt and extol Him with music and song.
