The Bible make us know that we are running a race in this world and the race is not a physical but spiritual and is a race of faith. The book of Hebrews mentions something important:
Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us.
The above scripture warns us as believers in Christ to do away with every weight and sin that will hinder us from running this race in God’s standards. The weight and sin mentioned in this verse are habits that weaken us spiritually and limit our ability to run the race successfully. These are three things that will call your attention every day to make you a sin-driven individual:
- The world
- Satan
- Sin
The World: The Bible warns us not to be conformed to this world (Rom 12:1). Remember, we are in this world but we are not of this world.
Satan: Satan is the god of this world and he will always entice us to do things that are against the word of God. We need to always forcefully resist him and flee from every appearance of evil.
Sin: The spirit of sin has gained control over many in the world today. However, as believers in Christ, we must dare to be different and make holiness our lifestyle.
I don't know what you are going through right now as a believer is Christ, but I want to admonish you. Please, don't be discouraged. This race requires resilience and edurance. Keep running! Do not allow the world, Satan or sin to stop you. Make up your mind that you will finish this race no matter what and never stop running. You will finish strong in Jesus’ name.
If you are reading this post and you haven't accepted Jesus as your personal Lord and saviour, you need to make the most of this opportunity and accept Him today. If you are ready, I want you to pray this prayer:
“Lord Jesus, I know I’m a sinner, Jesus, I repent of my sins. Jesus I confess my sins to you (mention them) Jesus I accept you right now and today as my personal Lord and Saviour. Jesus I promise to serve you all my days.”
If you sincerely prayed the above prayer, I want you to search for a Bible-Believing Church of your choice and begin to fellowship there. Read your Bible and pray everyday. You can reach me through apostlepaul@pkgm.org. Stay blessed!
