Life is like a roller coaster that takes us through a lot of ups and downs, however, God does not want us to be sad when we are down. Rather, He expects us to be happy because he has promised to be with us. When we are down to nothing, God is up to something. That negative situation you are going through right now is not a parking place but a passing phase that will vanish like a vapour. Let me show you something from the book of Philippians.
Rejoice in the Lord always, Again I will say, rejoice!
In this scripture, apostle Paul is telling the church of Philippi to always rejoice in the Lord no matter what situation they find themselves in. He knows well that when they rejoice in the Lord, they will be strengthened in their faith and move further in their Christian journey. As believers in Christ, we are not to rejoice only when life is good but we are to also rejoice when life is bad. When we go through pleasant and unpleasant situations, we need to remember that God is good (Nahum 1:7) and He will deliver us from our challenges.
The Vine is dried up, and the fig tree languisheth, the pomegranate tree, the palm tree also, and the apple tree, even all the trees of the field, are withered because Joy is withered away from the sons of men
According to the above scripture, the reason the trees withered was because people did not have joy. This means that because people were no longer happy, famine and dryness came upon them. The extent to which you are full of joy in the Lord is the extent to which things will begin to work and flourish around you.
If you are going through any unpleasant situation, do yourself a favor now. Lift your hands and sing songs of praise to God for His greatness and the things He has done for you. Thank Him for your past, your present, and your future. Don’t complain or stay sad. God will surely turn your situation around for good. Make it a habit to always rejoice no matter what and see what God will do in your life.
If you are reading this post and you have not given your life to Jesus. Why don’t you make the most of this opportunity to do so, if you are ready, I want you to pray this prayer:
"Lord Jesus, I know I’m a sinner. Jesus, I repent of all my sins and confess them to you (mention them). Jesus, I accept you into my life as my personal Lord and Saviour. Jesus, I promise to serve you all my life."
If you pray the above prayer with every sense of meaning, I want you to search for any Bible believing Church of your choice and begin to fellowship there. Read your Bible and pray every day. I would love to hear from you, you can reach me by sending an email to apostlepaul@pkgm.org. May the Joy of the Lord flow in your heart like a river.
