The God who we serve is an awesome God and He delights in seeing those who serve Him in spirit and truth to lift up their holy hands in worship in His presence.
Behold, bless the LORD, All you servants of the LORD, Who by night stand in the house of the LORD! Lift up your hands in the sanctuary, And bless the LORD.
Thus I will bless You while I live; I will lift up my hands in Your name.
In the first scripture, the psalmist enjoins all servants (followers) of the Lord to bless (worship) Him by lifting hands in worship of the most High God who alone is worthy to be glorified. In the second scripture, the psalmist declares that as long as he is alive, he will lift his hands in praise to God. Lifting up your hands is an act of total surrender to God for His awesomeness, greatness and majesty. Don’t just worship God for what He has done or what He can or will do. Worship Him for who He is. Worship His Majesty. When you lift your hands in worship, your problems become His problems and He will solve all of them.
When you lift your hands in praise, your confusions dissolve and become your enemies' confusion. David, a great Jewish king, knew the secret of worshiping God and never lost a single battle he fought. Are you confronted with a fierce spiritual battle that seems to snuff the life out of you? Lift up your hands in worship to God and your victory will surely come. Hallelujah!
