Let Your Will Be Done In My Life

Every believer in Christ needs to cherish the will of God for their lives more than any other thing. As a believer in Christ, God has a plan made for you, from the cradle to your grave. When you align yourself with God's will, He will be pleased with you and your outcome will be great! Doing God's will is the best decision a believer can ever make. Let me take you to the Book of Acts.

Acts 26:19 (NKJV)

Therefore, King Agrippa, I was not disobedient to the heavenly vision,

Paul spoke the words in the above scripture in his defence before King Agrippa. In that encounter, Paul shared the story of his conversion from a persecutor of Christians to a preacher of the Christian faith. He told King Agrippa and everyone present that he never disobeyed the visions that God gave to him. He agreed with God's will for his life and followed it to the letter. This is an excellent example for us as believers to emulate.

1. God's will
2. Satan's will
3. People's will
4. Your will

Of all these wills, one will is greater than the rest and it’s God's will. Doing a will refers to living by or following that will. Do not do Satan’s will (his intention) because it will lead you into misery and struggle. Don’t fall into the trap of doing people's will because they will fail you when you need them most. Don't make the mistake of doing your will because you have personal limitations that will limit your potential. Doing your will is like living as a branch of a tree that is cut off from a tree. It will eventually dry up and die.

Jesus knew that the death on the cross would not be easy. As he considered the agony and the excruciating pain that He would go through in this experience, he prayed to God to allow “this cup (death of agony on the cross) to pass over.” However, he added, “Nevertheless, not as I will, but as You will.” (Matt. 26:39). Because of this singular act of obedience, God gave Jesus a name above every other name. The Bible says:

Phil. 2:10-11 (NKJV)

That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

The name of Jesus wreaks havoc in the Kingdom of darkness. It is a powerful name! Many times, you will feel like doing things your way. However, you need to follow God’s way and see Him do things for you in His way. Satan wants his will to be done in your life, but it will lead to your misery and destruction. Don’t permit or give him room! People will wish you follow their way. However, God’s way is the right way. Allow only His will in your life and see Him turn your life into a beautiful story. As you read, pray this prayer: "Lord, I submit my will to your will. Let your will be done in my life in Jesus' name." The will of God will prevail over you in Jesus’ name.
