I Am Yours Forever

I was once a lost soul, living life my own way. Church held no appeal for me, and I harbored a deep hatred for the Bible. As an idol worshipper, I firmly believed my path was right. My life spiraled into addiction—pornography consumed me, and I became trapped in a cycle of chronic masturbation. Lying came naturally, and I lived recklessly. People rarely spoke well of me, as I left a trail of pain and misery in my wake. I was notorious among the "bad boys" who would scale school fences when arriving late. Music with explicit content became my anthem, and I prided myself on my dancing skills.

I was blind to a crucial truth: if I died in this state of sin, heaven's gates would remain closed to me. Then came an unexpected turning point. A friend invited me to a church program, and surprisingly, I agreed to attend. Though the preacher didn't deliver a salvation message that weekday, something extraordinary happened as I sat in that chair. A voice spoke from nowhere: "Dare" (my Yoruba name), "give your life to Jesus today. If you leave this place without surrendering to Him, you will surely die."

Startled, I looked around, but no one was there. I didn't realize then that God Himself was speaking to me. Overwhelmed, I fell to my knees and poured out my confession to God. In that moment, I accepted Jesus Christ as my personal Lord and Savior, and my life transformed completely. Sin, which once ruled my life, became repulsive to me. My heart's sole desire became pleasing God and following His will.

Rom. 8:35 (NKJV)

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

This scripture makes me know that there is nothing, absolutely nothing, that can separate me from the love of Jesus, my saviour.
