God does not want those who serve him truthfully to be anxious about anything because anxiety does more harm than good. The book of Proverbs says:
Anxiety in the heart of man causes depression, But a good word makes it glad.
The above scripture shows us that when someone is filled with anxiety, depression will eventually set in. However, good and positive words gladden the heart. Anxiety is a feeling of fear, dread, and uneasiness. It is also intense, excessive, persistent worry or fear about everyday situations. Let’s explore a few of the effects of anxiety.
Effects of Anxiety
- Depression
- Worrying
- Mental illness
- Constant headache
- Stress
- Ill health
- Fear of the unknown
- Muscles and joints pains
- Fast heartbeat
- Stomach upset
- Tiredness
- Lack of concentration
Friend, you don’t need to be anxious because it will only cause your health to depreciate. The Bible has a clear solution to anxiety in the book of Philippians, let’s look at it together:
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
This scripture tells us never to be anxious or worried about anything. Don't be anxious about your past or things in the present and certainly don’t be worried about the future. Just pray, supplicate and give thanks to God. One thing you need to know is that anything that happens to you will surely work out for your good and you will experience God. Don’t worry. Your future is secure in God. Our God is a living God and He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. No matter how difficult your situation is right now, God will surely come through for you. He is still on your side. Cheer up and be happy. Something good and beautiful is about to happen to you. Determine to never be anxious again and put all your trust in God. It is well with you in Jesus’ name.
If you haven’t given your life to Jesus, seize this opportunity to accept Him as your personal Lord and Saviour. If you are willing, say this prayer:
“Lord Jesus, I know I’m a sinner and come to you today. I repent of my sins and confess them to you (mention them). Jesus, I accept you today as my personal Lord and Saviour. I promise to serve you all my days.”
If you prayed this prayer sincerely, search for a Bible-believing church of your choice and begin to fellowship there. Read your Bible and pray every day. You can reach me through apostlepaul@pkgm.org. Stay blessed.
