Are You a Bible Practitioner?

We live in the last days and the world is filled with darkness and evil. Yet, God expects his children to align their lives with His word (The Bible) so they overcome the darkness around them. However, aligning our lives with the word of God is more than reading it or hearing it. Believers in Christ, we need to be Bible practitioners! Hearing sermons is not enough. We need to put the word of God into practice. It is unfortunate that there are many Christians who only read the Bible but do not put it into practice. Many hear God’s word every Sunday but only a few practice it. See what the book of James says:

Jm. 1:22 (NKJV)

“

But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.

The above scripture enjoins every believer in Christ Jesus to be doers of God's word and not just hearers. When you hear God’s word and you don’t practice it, you are deceiving yourself. The greatest of all deception is self-deceit. It is not enough to just read the Bible. Practice it! The word is God’s will for your life. It is a life manual full of knowledge and wisdom to guide you through your entire life. As you begin to practice the Bible, you will begin to live a result-oriented life.

Friend, are you in the camp of those who only read the Bible but don’t practice it? Do you hear the word of God but don’t put it into action? Don’t continue to put yourself at a disadvantage. The word of God was made for you. Leave that camp and intentionally begin to find ways to practise God’s word. What was the last thing you learnt in the Bible? Take a serious look at it and reflect on your current state and see how you can put that word into practice. God bless you as you do so.

“Lord Jesus, I know I’m a sinner and come to you today. I repent of my sins and confess them to you (mention them). Jesus, I accept you today as my personal Lord and Saviour. I promise to serve you all my days.”
