In these last and evil days, Satan is unleashing every weapon in his arsenal to target careless believers in Christ. After experiencing salvation, it is not enough to remain passive—you must draw closer to God daily and cling to Him with all your heart. You need to pray every day and read His word, the Bible. You need to obey the instructions in it. You need to fast regularly and listen to every instruction of the Holy Spirit.

1 Cor. 10:12 (NKJV)

Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall.

This verse is a sobering reminder for every believer who feels secure in their faith: take heed and be alert! To ‘take heed’ means to pay very close attention to something and consider it carefully. Here, it reminds us to consistently examine every part of our lives to avoid falling away or into sin.

In biblical times, the Israelites fell into sin because they failed to take heed. They lusted after evil things, worshipped idols, committed sexual immorality, tempted God and grumbled in ungratefulness. As a result, thousands of them perished in the wilderness and did not reach the promised land.

When you read the stories of people in the Bible who fell into sin, make sure you note the things that made them fall and run from it. Don’t assume your spiritual gifts, wisdom, or experience will shield you from what destroyed them. Flee from sin!

Don’t touch anything you know is unclean. Satan is never at rest; he’s always roaming like a lion, seeking for someone to devour. Child of God, determined to be holy. Stay away from anything that can defile you and don’t give the devil a foothold in your life. To be continued…
