Through the ages, God has instructed those serving Him in spirit and truth to walk in holiness. God has a nature of holiness and that is why He expects His children to be Holy. In this present perverse and corrupt world, we can only please God if we walk in holiness daily. The Bible says in 2nd Corinthians:
Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God
Apostle Paul here is sounding a note of warning to the Corinthians Christians and the present-day believers to make ourselves pure by abstaining from the filthiness of the flesh so we can live in holiness and in the fear of God. The filthiness of the flesh will definitely lead to the filthiness of the Spirit. For example, a man committing adultery or a woman committing fornication does it physically (in the flesh) but it would pollute his and her spiritual life.
This year, the Lord will release the grace of holiness upon His people. Every believer needs to make a strong determination to stay away from sin so as to walk in this grace. Friend, make this determination right now and you will walk in holiness and righteousness throughout this year. The Lord is with you and will keep you in Jesus’ name.
If you have read this post till this point, and you haven’t given your life to Jesus, you need to do so right now so you can receive the grace to be holy. It takes nothing to accept Jesus, all you need to do is accept Him. If you are ready to accept Jesus, pray this prayer:
“Lord Jesus, I know that I’m a sinner and that I cannot save myself. Jesus, I call on you today, save me. I repent of all my sins today (mention them) and accept you as my personal Lord and Saviour. Jesus, I promise to serve you all my days.”
If you prayed the above prayer, search for a Bible-believing church and begin to fellowship there. Also, read your Bible and pray every day. If you need counseling, you can contact me through apostlepaul@pkgm.org. Receive the grace to walk in holiness in Jesus’ name.
